Terms of Service — DRAFT

DRAFT — the shop's own wording, which may still change before bookings open. It is the shop's first draft of what it intends to say. Phase 7 of the build replaces this file with the full draft set.

Last edited: 22 October 2026. Applies to: the Bore and Stroke game, the tune simulator, and the Bore and Stroke Tuning remote calibration service.

1. Who we are

Bore and Stroke ("we", "us"). Contact: boreandstroke.shop@gmail.com. Postal address: The Hague, the Netherlands.

2. The three things we offer, and which terms apply to which

  1. The game. A piece of software sold under its own end-user licence (the EULA), which governs your use of it. Buying the game does not buy you any tuning work.
  2. The simulator. A free, educational web tool. It is not a substitute for a professional dyno tune and no figure it produces is a recommendation for a real engine. See section 6.
  3. The tuning service. Custom engine calibration written from a file you send us, for off-road and competition use only, on the terms in sections 4, 5 and 6 and in the liability waiver you sign before checkout.

3. Payments and refunds

Prices are shown before checkout in US dollars. Payment is taken by Stripe; we do not see or store your card details.

  • Game: refunds, where available, follow the policy of the store the game is sold through. Where the game is sold directly by us, a refund can be requested within 14 days of purchase provided the game has not been downloaded or activated.
  • Tuning service: a custom calibration is bespoke work delivered digitally. Once we have begun work on your file the fee is non-refundable, and we will instead keep working the revisions your tier includes. If we cannot support your ECU after you have paid, we refund in full.

4. What you must do for the tuning service

You confirm that: the vehicle is yours or you have the owner's permission; the file you send is an unmodified read of the vehicle's own ECU; you will use the calibration only off public roads; you accept that a calibration can void a manufacturer's warranty; and you will follow the flashing instructions you are given.

5. What we deliver

A calibration file for the ECU and software version you sent us, delivered by an expiring download link with a checksum, and the datalog review or revisions included in the tier you bought. We do not deliver hardware, and we do not guarantee any specific power figure.

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The simulator is provided for education and entertainment "as is". The tuning service is provided with reasonable skill and care, and to the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for anything arising from it is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for engine or drivetrain damage arising from use on public roads, from modifications you did not declare, from fuel other than what you declared, or from failure to follow the flashing procedure. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

7. Your data

See the Privacy Policy. In short: we keep what we need to deliver what you bought and to answer you, and we do not sell it.

8. Changes and law

We may change these terms; the date at the top moves when we do. These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands, and disputes go to its courts.
